Stopping AAPI Hate: Resources

Published 2/11/2021

As the spread of COVID-19 and tense China-America relations amp up xenophobia and Sinophobia, we have compiled the following list of resources that respond to recent hate incidents against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) covered in the media, as well as community organizations for AAPI that you can support. A great actionable is choosing at least three of these phenomenal organizations to donate to, and maybe even volunteer at one! Even a small donation helps.

We also want to note that anti-AAPI hate and violence do not happen in a vacuum. Rather, they are results of the white supremacist, imperialist, and capitalist systems that have harmed—and continues to harm—Black, Indigenous, Latinx, queer, and other communities that are targeted by white supremacist violence. Anti-AAPI racism not only manifests in the form of hate incidents, but is also visible as Chinatowns across the world lose the important business and tourism that sustains them as racism and xenophobia arose during the pandemic.

Fighting anti-AAPI racism also means working toward abolition, decolonization, and anti-capitalism—forms of violence that affect all marginalized groups.
